Razor N Blades Barbershop

We revitalised the branding for

Razors & Blades Barbershop, a barbershop in South West London.

The objective was to modernise the barbershop’s branding and physical space to attract a broader audience of young men and working professionals while staying true to its urban roots and community vibe. The design aimed to evoke a sense of confidence, trust, and sophistication while maintaining an approachable and inclusive atmosphere.

The design was crafted to inspire:

  • Confidence: Bold visuals and clean layouts, the brand conveyed expertise and high standards.

  • Approachability: The multicultural barbershop's inclusive and warm atmosphere was reflected in the tone and design.

  • Authenticity: The materials and messaging celebrated the barbershop’s roots while embracing a contemporary identity.

Research & Strategy

Conducted competitor analysis and identified visual trends appealing to the target demographic. The insights shaped the creative direction to ensure the brand felt relevant and timeless.

Brand Development

Three versions of the logo, taking into account the multiple places and platforms it would be displayed, from 3 metre wide signage to Instagram profile picture.

 

Designed a bold visual identity that expressed strength and modernity, using clean typography, a striking black, red, and white colour palette, and a refreshed logo symbolising tradition with a modern twist.

 

The imagery used in the designs features close-up shots of barbers cutting hair and styling beards, emphasising the craftsmanship and skill involved in the barbering process.

Signage
  • Designed exterior signage, including large window vinyls that communicated the shop’s branding and service offerings, ensuring high visibility and professionalism.

  • Created shop signage, such as fascia boards and hanging signs, that reinforced the bold, modern identity while inviting passersby to explore the barbershop.

  • Developed interior signage that aligned with the shop’s aesthetic, using dynamic typography and clear messaging to guide and engage customers

 
Interior Design

To infuse the space with personality and exclusivity, I designed, projected, and hand-painted a custom wall mural as a standout feature of the shop's interior. The mural incorporated bold typography and dynamic graphic elements, creating a striking visual centrepiece that reinforced the barbershop’s identity while elevating the customer experience. I collaborated with the client to identify meaningful words and phrases they wanted featured, integrating these into the design before bringing it to life through meticulous hand-painting.

 

I advised on layout, materials, and aesthetic choices to create a space that balanced warmth with professionalism, ensuring customers felt both comfortable and confident upon entering. Selected and arranged furnishings and décor to complement the brand's colour palette and urban aesthetic, creating a cohesive and inviting environment.

Marketing Materials

Designed in-shop signage, posters, and flyers to communicate core values, promotions, and services effectively.

Website Design

Developed a modern website with user-friendly navigation, a gallery of services, and essential customer information like pricing and contact details.

Content Creation

Produced marketing materials and digital assets to maintain consistency across social media and other online platforms.

Results

The rebrand led to an increase in customer traffic, with positive feedback about the shop’s refreshed and professional appearance.
